Object-oriented programming in ABAP projects promotes reusability, maintainability and extensibility of code, which increases the efficiency and quality of software development in the long term.
Course description: Object-oriented programming with ABAP Objects
This intensive course provides a comprehensive introduction to the concepts of object-oriented programming and their implementation with ABAP Objects. The course is aimed at developers and programmers who want to deepen their knowledge of ABAP programming and take advantage of the benefits of object-oriented methods.
Unlike a BC401 course, we place great emphasis on practical relevance. Accordingly, the weighting of the topics has been chosen to focus on the truly relevant ones. Above all, our focus is on object-oriented programming with the tools of ABAP Objects.
In addition, aspects of modern ABAP (e.g. Clean Core, modern ABAP syntax, Eclipse as the development environment) have been incorporated into the course. The course is conducted exclusively with the Eclipse development environment and the ABAP Development Tools (ADT) - no SAPGUI, no SE80!
This gives those making the switch the opportunity to engage intensively with SAP's new development tools and to receive some useful tips during the course that will make the transition to the "new world" easier.
The course is divided into three logical parts, which can be conducted completely one after the other or individually by arrangement:
- Part - Getting started with object-oriented programming in ABAP (modern ABAP, classes, interfaces, inheritance)
- Part - Advanced concepts of object-oriented programming in ABAP (polymorphism, abstraction, design patterns, API First Design)
- Part - Practical scenario as teamwork (prepared by us or agreed in advance)
We offer this course as classroom training at our premises or at our customers' premises.
Learning objectives:
- Understanding the concepts of object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Creating and managing classes and objects
- Implementing inheritance and polymorphism
- Applying interfaces and abstract classes
Duration: The course comprises a total of 2-5 days of intensive instruction with practical exercises and real-world examples.
Completion: Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate confirming their newly acquired knowledge of object-oriented programming with ABAP Objects.
